Ohhh...rientation. < sounds so wrong! >

Program for Monday: Welcome HealthSciences Students (11am-12pm), followed by solving all my problems/clashes at Student Services Faculty.

woke up early this morning, arnd 8.30am, just in time to use the bathroom after Nick.
got everything ready and headed to Murdoch station! (Mel drove ^^)

my oh myy, pardon my morning eyes ><

At the station i met Rebecca! and we talked and talked. she told me about TAFE and her first day at TAFE, how she met her friends and etc. Then bus 101 came, and we boarded it. 

The bus was pretty packed so we couldnt sit together. 

Her stop was 2 stops before Curtin's busport; TAFE is opposite Curtin (Y)!

then when the bus stopped at Curtin, i texted mom to tell her ive arrived, and looked for someone to ask for directions. haha!

i saw this friendly looking asian girl, and i asked her if she knew the way to the stadium. 

Kindly enough, she said she'll take me there. ;D

-flashback to Curtin's OpenDay in Feb, i went with SJ and Ernest-

i wrote my details for this Christian booth aka CCM, 

then on the same week i received a text from a girl named Esther,

telling me about a FREE fresher bbq for CCMs.

(but i kindly declined, it was on a saturday, i had work.)

ever since, i saved her number under Esther CCM, incase she sends more updates on CCM's programs coz im pretty sure i ticked 'Yes' at the bit where they asked if i wanted to be updated on upcoming events in CCM.

-end of flashback-

(convo with friendly azn girl)

Girl: Im Esther, you are?

Sta: Oh, im Stephanie =) Nice to meet you!

Girl: Nice to meet you too!

-points to where we're heading-

Girl: (said sth about being an officer in CCM and knowing Curtin's whereabouts..)

Sta: O.O you said you're esther right?

Girl: yeah!

Sta: and you're from CCM?

Girl: mhmm, it's a Christian group- 

Sta: heyy i think you texted me at the beginning of this year about a bbq!

Girl: huh? maybe not coz they're lotsa Esthers in our Christian Groups. Maybe you're talking about another Esther from Passion!

Sta: wait lemme check..

(shows her my contacts where her number was under 'Esther CCM')

and she just went..

Girl: ohmygod! that's me! what a small world!

Sta: (wow God, you had it all planned out didnt cha ^^!)

Esther: oh but ive changed my number. here, you can have my new number so incase you've got any questions, feel free to gimme a call!

Sta: ^^ awesome, will do.

just so you know, i dont believe in coincidences coz God controls everything.

So anyways, we reached the Stadium and bid goodbye. 

i was half an hour early, so i took my time examining my map as i had to sort out a couple of things at the Student Services later, after the 'Welcome of HealthScience Students' @ 11am.

when i arrived at the spot where we were directed by START volunteers, (ppl who volunteer to help out during Orientation via directing, carrying things, cleaning, setting up places etc.) two girls suddenly said hi to me.


i turned, smiled and went " oh hi! " and started chatting off with them about courses, where they're from etc.
so there we go, HELLO MY TWO NEW FRIENDS! ;D


it was only towards the end of the orientation, did i realise that i'd forgotten to ask them what their names were =O

so meet Marcee (Marcelina) and Vee (Vina)! my indomees!

(nah jokes, but they're both from Indo x])

they're nice and funny ppl and guess what?

THEY'RE CHRISTIANS!

and before i asked, i was thinking "hmm.. ppl from Indo are Sikhs arent they?"

my myy how wrong i was =D

so the day went on, i went to Student Services and got..

- my timetable sorted out

(this cute white guy guided me patiently, step by step, till we joked and laughed, he's one of those few white guys whom are so easy to talk to!)

- my Curtin ID card

(my picture was taken right there and then! =O it's crap, as usual BUT it's definitely better than my highschool ones..-.-)

- to ask about how/when to pay my Fees

(have to wait for the letter to come regarding my fees, then pay up-front at the Fee Office)

- my University Smartrider

(my highschool smartrider expires in 2011 though, same date as expiry of my new smartrider. =/)

after that, we 3 went to eat lunch with Vee's mom and apparently, there's another session of orientation for us who had human bio units.

(no, i didnt know o.o")

anyways, another person i met there was...

Quincy!

(he's one of the volunteers of START!)

so he lead us all the waaayy to the building where the human bio orientation will be held. 

OH btws!

this is how Bachelor of Science works! 

During the first year, all student doing Bachelor of Science - Public Health, 

will be doing the same 5 units for the first year.

Only after the first year, do we get separated into our respective majors.

My major shall be HSE (Health Safety and Environment)

Marcee's is FS (Food Science)

Vee's is HIM (Health, something and Management xD)

i THANK YOU GOD.

if i hadnt met Rebecca at the Station, i wouldnt have started the day with a smile.

if i hadnt joined CCM, id wouldnt have gotten that text from Esther.

if i hadnt met Esther, i'd be late for the Orientation.

if i hadnt left my ipod at home, id never would have made friends.

if i hadnt met Marcee and Vee, id have missed the Human Bio Orientation.

if i hadnt met Quincy, id have had a really suffering time holding my pee in. xD

what my future's gonna look like =]

- make sure the things ppl eat are safe. 

- inspect cleanliness of shops/places and decide if it's 5star or 0star ;D

- try to find new ways to produce things that are environment safe.

- protect ppl from dangerous particles in the air during accidents.

im still praying to God for inspiration and motivation for this course, 

Health, Safety and Environment.

Since quite a bit of things happened in June and July, imma tell you what ive been up to till now! =]

2 times to the City with mom (june)

first time to re-dye her hair.

second time for lunch and neoprints.

2 dinners with Chans @ Tiens (june and july)

first time with two banquets, shared amongst 10 ppl. we were very full.

second time with three banquets, shared between 10 ppl! we were achingly full! ~.~

FIFA (june)

leongs came over to accompany the match between Aus & Ghana. 

they were doing lotsa vuvuzellas and ___________ (forgot its name! =O)

City with Nick & Ollie (july)

It was for Nick's haircut and for Steamboat Balls Shopping. we got lost in Northbridge, but it's alright. it was a good explore! i didnt know Northbridge had 'another' part until i saw the 'other' part of Northbridge. and we mistook the BankWest building for Tafe building, haha! yep, that's how lost we were! xD

steamboat with dteam

only about a 1/3 of our DTeam were present but it was a nice, small and cozy company. 

ate heaps of rounds of steamboat, rocked the house with ossum music, 
played pictionary and ate a huuuuge watermelon. ^^

2 cinema movies - Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3 (3D)

both were EPICLY OSSUM. =D that's what you call, Money Well Spent!

IMC Youth Camp

i got to know both english and chinese youths from church, 

i returned home with improved chinese vocabulary coz i stayed in a chalet filled chinese speaking ppl, only Esther and i were not really chinese speaking. 

2 Sundays to the City.

First one with Jasmin for her shopping.

Second one with Yao, Ying and Matt for lunch and catch ups.

rightt when i am miraculously ABLE to make it to my own church's youth camp, only one could make it
